Double track work planned near Cardiff-by-the-Sea

As part of the San Elijo Lagoon Double Track Project, overnight and weekend work is planned from 12:30 a.m. on April 21 to 3 a.m. on Monday, April 23 as construction crews continue to lay new track north of Chesterfield Avenue, and prepare recently laid track for eventual train service.

Council votes to remove contested site from housing plan

More than 500 residents living in the Quail Gardens Drive neighborhood have contested the property, at 634 Quail Gardens Lane, wasn't appropriate for high-density housing and signed a petition urging the council to reconsider including the site on the list.

Students press congressional candidates in forum

The students from Pacific Ridge School in Carlsbad and La Jolla Country Day School hosted the forum, moderated by Scott Lewis of the Voice of San Diego, at Pacific Ridge on April 17 and invited eight candidates for California's 49th congressional district.

Encinitas dance company presents debut performance

Litvak Dance, which focuses on contemporary dance, will host its first performance on April 28 and April 29 at UC San Diego's Molli and Arthur Wagner Dance Building. Ticket prices range from $15 to $20.

Encinitas artists to showcase work at Mission Federal ArtWalk
