First Central American caravan members admitted at San Ysidro Port of Entry

Eight members of a group of Central American migrants seeking asylum in the United States were admitted Monday night into the San Ysidro Port of Entry, according to leaders of the Pueblo Sin Fronteras Caravan that brought them to the Tijuana-San Diego border.

More than $630,000 raised so far to qualify convention center initiative for ballot

Owners of some of San Diego's biggest hotels have contributed the bulk of the more than $330,000 raised so far this year to qualify for the November ballot a measure that would pay for an expanded convention center and significantly boost funding for the homeless.
